Noem Year-End Report Shows Contributions from State Contractors

Noem Year-End Report Shows Contributions from State Contractors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In her campaign’s year-end report, Kristi Noem lists contributions from individuals whose businesses have greatly benefited from contracts with the state, raising questions of pay-to-play relationships with Noem.

  1. Noem received $3,000 in contributions in 2017 from members of the Sioux Falls family whose company feeds inmates in the state prison system.

  2. Noem’s report shows $8,000 in donations from a Rapid City family that owns a company which has collected more than $4.9 million taxpayer dollars fueling state vehicles.

  3. She also lists a $2,100 donation from a campaign advisor whose law firm has collected $111,775 since 2012 doing legal consultation work for a half-dozen state agencies.

  4. More examples are evident upon further review of the report.

These are just a few examples from the year-end report, and the latest pre-primary report may provide more instances of pay-to-play practices. These instances raise serious questions about pay-to-play relationships existing between the current US Representative and candidate for governor and numerous state contractors that have contributed to her campaign.
