Caucuses & Chapters

Chaired by Kellen Returns F.S., we meet on the first Thursday of every month via Zoom. The caucus consists of over twenty members representing all tribes of South Dakota.

Membership is open to any individual who is a citizen or a descendant of an American Indian, Alaska Native or Hawaiian tribe, nation or community, or those who support all purposes of the caucus.

Our main objective is to encourage new voter participation in our tribal communities. We work to recruit, support, and ultimately elect – Native American Democrats running for public office.

Young Democrats of South Dakota is the official progressive youth arm of the South Dakota Democratic Party, working with all South Dakota Democrats age 13-35.

The College Dems of South Dakota unite students across the state with organizations at several universities. They host events featuring state party leadership and current state lawmakers as well as host voter registration drives. They are engaging their fellow classmates to get involved in politics.
