NOTICE TO FILL VACANCY

SDDP Chair Shane Merrill has called for a meeting of District 28A central committee  members to fill a vacancy that has occurred in the Democratic House race in District 28A.  

​

Per SDCL 12-6-57 (2)- Multi-county legislative districts, the party State Central Committee chairman shall call a meeting of affected county party central committee members to fill  the vacancy, designate the time and place where the meeting shall be held, designate the  person who will conduct the meeting, and notify all affected central committee members  of this information.

Chairman Merrill has designated Sharon Lee of Eagle Butte, SD to conduct the meeting which  will occur on Thursday July 2, 2026, at 5:00 PM MT. This meeting will take place at:

Eagle Butte, SD 57625

Those who are eligible to vote to fill the vacancy are:

Eileen Briggs, Dewey County Vice Chair

Joellen Berdt, Dewey County Committeewoman 

Wayne Ducheneaux, Dewey County Committeeman
