DNC Chair Coming to South Dakota

Rapid City, SD -- The South Dakota Democratic Party is proud to announce that DNC Chair Ken Martin will be the keynote speaker at Democratic Roundup in Rapid City on Saturday, September 27th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Conference Center.

Ken is a lifelong Democrat with a proven track record of success. As Chairman of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party, President of the Association of State Democratic Committees, and Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Ken has dedicated his career to fighting for working families and building a stronger Democratic Party.

His political career began in 1990, interning for Minnesota U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone’s campaign. This experience ignited a lifelong commitment to the Democratic Party and its values. He later interned in Wellstone’s office and organized college campuses for the Clinton/Gore Campaign. After graduating, he honed his skills in Kansas politics before returning to Minnesota to serve as the Political & Field Director for the Minnesota DFL.

In February 2025, Ken was elected as the new chair of the DNC. Since then, he has built momentum for Democrats across the country. He is making historic investments in all states and territories. He also launched an "organize everywhere, win anywhere" strategy to reach out to ALL voters. He also helped Democrats hold town halls in all 50 states, including 7 here in South Dakota.

Ken has been a long time ally of the South Dakota Democratic Party. He was the keynote speaker at the 2024 McGovern Day dinner in Sioux Falls.
