Dell Rapids, SD - September 8, 2025 – Nikki Gronli, small business owner and former State Director for USDA Rural Development, today announced her candidacy for South Dakota’s lone U.S. House seat. Gronli will formally launch her campaign on Wednesday, September 10 at 1:30 PM at Holiday Inn City Centre, Skyline Room, 100 W 8th St., Sioux Falls.
“I’ve listened to South Dakotans across the state, and their struggles are real,” Gronli said. “Families are being squeezed by tariffs, inflation, and skyrocketing health care costs while our leaders look the other way. South Dakotans deserve someone who will stand up, do the work, and deliver results.”
Since April, Gronli has toured the state, hosting town halls and listening sessions to hear directly from South Dakotans. Her campaign will continue traveling to communities, elevating local concerns, and seeking solutions.
“This campaign is about restoring trust, listening to people in their communities, and bringing common-sense South Dakota solutions to Washington,” Gronli added. “Our best days are ahead, but only if we have leaders with the courage to fight for them.”
Gronli, who led USDA Rural Development in South Dakota from 2022 to 2025, oversaw millions of dollars in investments supporting rural housing, broadband, infrastructure, and community facilities. With nearly 30 years of experience in marketing, communications, and leadership, she has built a career on bringing people together to solve tough challenges.
