SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The South Dakota Democratic Party respects Julian Beaudion's decision to suspend his campaign for U.S. Senate.

He and his family have put their heart and souls into this race. Julian traveled all over the state for more than a year, listening to South Dakotans and understanding their struggles. His campaign has been one that focuses on the people, providing a voice to so many that have been silenced for far too long.

"Julian would have made an outstanding US Senator for South Dakota," said SDDP Chair Shane Merrill. "Every city, town, and reservation he's visited, people truly felt like they were being heard. Julian is the kind of leader we need in Congress. He is fair, understanding and open minded. That is why he would have won in November. While I am saddened that he is leaving the race, I respect his decision to focus on his family. Thank you Julian for your dedication to the people of South Dakota."
