New Orleans, LA – During this week's Democratic National Committee (DNC) conference in New Orleans, South Dakota Democratic Party Chair Shane Merrill passed a resolution to support farmers and ranchers.
Â
The resolution highlights the hard work of families who supply our food and keep rural communities thriving. It also focuses on the hardship many farmers and ranchers are facing with the upcoming planting and calving seasons.
Â
"As a proud farmer in Parker, SD, agricultural issues are very important to me," says SDDP Chair Shane Merrill. "So often we hear that the Democratic Party is moving further and further from rural America. That's simply not true. This resolution shows our support for farm country. I am proud of our committee and the many co-sponsors who believe in strengthening family farms and ranches."
Â
We've provided a copy of the resolution in this email along with a picture of Chair Merrill in the Resolutions Committee.
