Chair’s Note: This week, a Kaiser Family Foundation report gave us the broadest look at premium costs of the Affordable Care Act. The study indicated that data shows prices will be competitive because of how attractive the exchanges are. This is good news to uninsured Americans who will now be able to access affordable coverage. It also means we are one step closer to equal coverage to women, people who are already sick and individuals with pre-existing conditions as the new exchanges won’t allow insurers to discriminate based on those criteria. And even though Representative Kristi Noem keeps trying to repeal it, affordable health insurance is close to becoming a reality for all Americans.
