Governor wants feds to run state’s health exchange

Chairman’s Note: Some issues are better than others at revealing Governor Daugaard’s philosophical inconsistencies. This week, Governor Daugaard refused to implement a healthcare exchange as part of Obamacare because of its $7.3 million cost. Of course, Republicans are always touting the benefits of competition, and this healthcare exchange would create that between health care insurers to bring down prices for health care consumers like you and me. And $7.3 million is less than half the annual cost of Governor Daugaard’s proposed large project development fund for taxpayer funded giveaways to large, out of state corporations. Here at SDDP headquarters, we call ’em as we see ’em. And this is nothing short of pure hypocrisy.
