Chairman’s Note: Our post offices are the heart of small towns across South Dakota. Our towns will survive with them or die without them. So when the United States Post Office accepted a request by Senator Tim Johnson and 22 other Democratic Senators to put on hold planned post office closures until Congress could deliberate all possible USPS reforms, small towns across South Dakota at risk of losing their post offices scored a huge victory. This is just another good example of effective leadership exercised by Senator Johnson to put South Dakota first.
