Chair’s Note: It’s a case of good news/bad news. The good news: an additional $6 million in one-time funds could be sent to schools. The bad news: its one time money. Since Governor Daugaard’s drastic cuts to education in 2010, we haven’t seen a real attempt at bringing funding levels back to what they need. While the one-time funds are nice, until we fully fund the formula South Dakota students will suffer the consequences.
