SD House panel delays vote on arming teachers

Chairman’s Note: Earlier this week, testimony was heard in the House Education Committee on the “school sentinel bill,” a measure meant to arm educators and volunteers. Opposition to the the sentinel bill was overwhelming and educators, superintendents and education organizations all voiced concerns about this radical proposed law. A vote on the legislation was deferred to Friday, when it will be voted on. Please call your legislators on the House Education Committee and tell them you don’t want more guns in our schools and then head over and sign this online petition calling for smart school safety.
