SDDP Statement on the Passing of Roger McKellips
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota Democratic Party released the following statement from Executive Director Sam Parkinson in response to the death of former State Senate Majority Leader and 1978 gubernatorial candidate Roger McKellips:
“Roger McKellips was a dedicated public servant who served his community and the people of South Dakota well in the State Legislature, including his time as Majority Leader. He was also a great Democrat and served the Party well in several leadership roles, in particular as Majority Leader and as the Democratic nominee for Governor in 1978. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of grief and loss.”
